Is an Android phone the best buy?

This thought may be doing rounds of your mind if you are looking for a new phone, or rather a smart phone.

All the platforms have their own pros and cons. According to the need and usage of the buyer, there is a phone for everyone. All that needs to be done is- the user needs to find out which platform suits their use the most.

Given below are some pros and cons of Android phones;

Pros: Android phones are the most popular phones on the planet today. The platform is available in a wide array of handsets with different price range. So basically, there is an android phone to suit everyone’s pocket. The range of applications that you find for Android is huge as well. When it comes to these third party applications, only iOS is rated higher than Androids. Google play works as the storehouse of all such paid and unpaid applications for Android users. Android also is preferred when it comes to customization for both the user and the manufacturer. The number if compatible third party devices that can be aligned to an android device is also any day more than a windows phone.  Also, the software provider is different from the phone manufacturer; like in the case of iOS, the phones are made by Apple as well as iOS is owned by Apple. Same is the case with Microsoft and Nokia, however in cases of Android, all the manufacturers use only the software.

Cons: First things first; though there is a phone to suit all the pockets in terms of budget, it is often difficult to resist the temptation of ending up buying a cheap one. The quality of experience of using a phone with Android platform is diversified as well. Androids are far from providing curated end-to-end experience. That would mean that there might be some applications that might not work in some of the phones. Since the use of Android is widespread, there are a zillion application makers and they end up making terrible applications. The applications downloaded through Google play might always be not legitimate since Access to Google Play is relatively unfettered for Android developers and thus, there remains a security risk. Also, the standardization of the operating system is missing since at times it is noticed that the hardware makers are allowed to make changes. For example, Samsung and HTC write their own versions of Android to give their handsets users a unique experience.

Are you game for an Android phone now?
